Pitino's teams continue their history of under performance and lack of focus/discipline

Brutal call or not, that's the risk you take by putting him on the floor. If you're Turgeon, you have to be able to trust your team to tread water without Smith for the final four minutes to end the half.

Now, he's hamstrung for the first part of the second half.

It's always a debate on what to do when a star player gets two fouls in the first half. Sometimes it works and sometimes it backfires.

This was a really interesting game for the sit or play players with 2 fouls in the first half. Pitino played several of his guys with 2 fouls. Turgeon normally sits his guys down. He had Smith out till he thought the game was getting out of hand. I just find it hard to criticize Turgeon for this, when it was working for Pitino. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
