We may not be his only suitor, but I think there's probably almost zero doubt that Cory Patterson has a spot on the 2020 Illini staff if he wants one.

Imagine the spot he is in. I know it was reported he was offered a spot at Kansas this offseason. But what if a successful program came calling? Would he leave his players from Trinity for the betterment of his individual career? We may not be his only suitor, but I think there's probably almost zero doubt that Cory Patterson has a spot on the 2020 Illini staff if he wants one.
You think Jadon is more tied in with Bellamy or the school?Frenchie is more tied to Cory. We'd have to see how his status played out. I think Reggie is a solid in either way but i haven't been told that directly, just my hunch.
CJ is shaky regardless of who the head coach is.

Isn't that pretty much what he did when he came here?Imagine the spot he is in. I know it was reported he was offered a spot at Kansas this offseason. But what if a successful program came calling? Would he leave his players from Trinity for the betterment of his individual career?
Northwestern, historically almost never gets 4* players and they win just fine.1 4* player in 3 recruiting cycles. Can't win in the Big 10 if you can't recruit.

They've signed multiple 4* star recruits over the last decade and their annual average player ranking sits right in the middle of the conference pack (As does Iowa's). They recruit just fine.
Come on now. Not the same thingIsn't that pretty much what he did when he came here?
So do we though.
Recruiting as the skeleton key to explain our constant, routine, massive failure doesn't fit. It's a closer call than in basketball, where that argument is, like, technicolor performance art wrong, but it is still the case that just looking at the talent level would indicate we should have won a bunch more games than we have. Few more dramatically so than Saturday, actually.
Jason Candle please.
I'm surprised to be seeing his name, I would have thought people were scared to hire another Toledo coach.
A couple of really good tests for them the next couple of weeks, at Colorado State and then at home against BYU. We will find out what they're made of.
He is a Campbell guy so I feel pretty safe with it.
Jim McElwain definitely intrigues me. I'm gonna wait out the rest of CMU's season to see where I land on him but he has a large profile of hiring good assistants, recruiting good players and winning football games.
Another name that peaks my interested is Craig Bohl.
Mostly because I doubt Lovie gets fired anyways. We may not be his only suitor, but I think there's probably almost zero doubt that Cory Patterson has a spot on the 2020 Illini staff if he wants one.
