I saw some stat like there were 7 FG's of 50 or more this year in the B1G and McLaughlin had 4 of them?

Kid has a monster leg. Even if only as a kickoff specialist he has a chance of playing on Sundays.

Kickoffs probably won't even exist in a few more years. But he'll get a shot as a FG kicker.

Congratulations to Chase McLaughlin on this well deserved award, as voted by the B1G coaches. Hopefully, we will follow your success kicking on Sundays.

Despite being clearly the best kicker in the B1G, the media snubs Chase to pick MSU's Matt Coghlin as the B1G's best kicker??!! From what I could find of comparative individual statistics, Chase McLaughlin was better than Matt Coghlin in; field goals made (20 vs. 16), total points (96 vs. 79), PATs made (36 vs. 25), field goals made beyond 50 yds. (4/6 vs. 0/1), kickoffs made (64 vs. 0!!!), and even punts made (1 vs. 0). The two tied for PAT conversion % (100 vs. 100). The only statistic that Chase was below Coghlin was field goal percentage (80.0 vs. 84.2), and Coghlin was 3rd in the B1G for that. Shame on the media and their anti-Illinois bias.
