If we take care of business we will be sitting on a Friday game. Haven't been on a Friday opening game in many years.
I'm just jacked we are discussing the probability of a double bye instead of having to win 5 in a row!!!
Any frequent Big 10 Tourney attendees out there who can advise best way to purchase tickets for Thursday thru Sunday in Indy? I'd like to have access to every game and then attend when my schedule permits. I'm assuming there is nothing better than Stub Hub. Lower bowl/section preferred.
Thanks!
My opinion is through fighting Illini. Com... considerably cheaper than stub hub, but you have to jump on it! Stub hub buys a ton and raises prices.
That is just incredible. I never would have guessed it was that bad.Yeah, winning 5 in a row would be a challenge considering we've only won 6 BTT games in the last 10 years.
It's hard for long time illini fans to grasp how bad we've been recently and also hard for newer illini fans to understand just how good we used to be.That is just incredible. I never would have guessed it was that bad.
I recall when we had the best BTT record and appeared in 4 of the first 8 and 5 of the first 11 championship games ---- with two titles. We dominated early. That is just incredible. I never would have guessed it was that bad.
But likely at worst we end the season with same amount of conference wins as we had previous two years.Yeah, winning 5 in a row would be a challenge considering we've only won 6 BTT games in the last 10 years.

At the time, that Wisky win felt to me like it would get us over the hump into the NCAAs, but bad stuff happened around the country and we barely missed pulling off the OSU upset. We ended up as a #1 seed in the NIT, but went on the road to Stony Brook because Cirque du Soleil was booked into Assembly Hall. Stony Brook was coached by now-Rutgers HC Steve Pikiell.2011 was the last time. Lost to Michigan 60-55 in our first game that year but still ended up making the the tournament as a 9 seed defeating UNLV before losing to Kansas.
The last time Illinois had a Friday opener and won was in 2010 when they defeated Wisconsin 58-54 before losing in double OT to eventual conference tournament champion Ohio State in the semifinals. That Illinois team ended up going to the NIT.
Especially when you consider up to that time we were one of the most successful B1G Tournament team. That is just incredible. I never would have guessed it was that bad.
Wisky looks safe so if we take care of business tomorrow, the second through sixth place teams will all be 10-6.With the PSU loss today, the second seed is now within our reach.
Not so sure I can trust your prognostication skills, Bombay. Weren't you predicting that we would go 18-2 in the conference earlier this year?I think our chances are the best. And, therefore we go 5-0. 14-6, 2nd place
I think WI goes into MI and comes out with a L. 3-1, 13-7
If we go 5-0, IA has at least one more L. They collect one more L at MSU. 2-2, 12-8
PSU: 13-7
MSU:13-7 (could go 12-8)
RU fades: 11-9
