This team is 4-5, but honestly isn't that good....not sure how we pan out the rest of the season, it may be less than pretty.

I feel worse about the Bears after the win yesterday than I did going into the game. The offense is still putrid. They had something like 226 yards against a Lions' defense that was giving up 200 yards more than that on average and gave up five sacks to a team that had only 14 going in. They couldn't run the ball again worth a damn. With Whitehair moving back to center get ready for a second half of the season of turfed shotgun snaps. The defense is looking more and more like a middle of the pack unit instead of a top two or three, although they are limiting points allowed. On the bright side Trubisky took advantage of some of the opportunities in the pass game and had three td passes. Also with several teams at 5-4 contending for the final wild card spot the Bears are only a game out of the playoffs. Weirder things have happened.

Bears are catching a bit of a break with the Rams this Sunday as they'll be down WR Brandin Cooks as well as two of their starting o-linemen. The game is still a Sunday night game as even with both teams underperforming, NBC would be foolish to not air a game involving two of the three biggest media markets in the country.

Speaking of the Rams, while much of the focus this year has been on how Trubisky has regressed (and for good reason), aside from a few games Jared Goff has been a bit underwhelming this season too.

So Chase McDaniel (unsigned “off-the street” according to tv broadcasters) just kicked a 47 yard field goal to tie the game with one second left for San Fran (because Robbie Gould is hurt)... he also hit another one earlier in the game..,and the Bears are stuck with Eddie???

Chase McLaughlin cost me a fantasy win this week. Come on, fellow Illini, that was embarrassing.

He also made 3 FGs and drilled the game tying FG as time expired in the 4th so...

Which is great but ultimately didn't matter. The announcers were brutal - "the moment was too big" and things like that. It was a bummer.

I am still wondering how either of those guys got the Monday night gig

Bears have placed Trey Burton on IR, ending his season.

He was clearly never healthy, but still... 14 catches for 84 yards and 0 TDs in 8 games. Ugh.

We can blame Mitch for a lot, but his supporting cast has been really disappointing, too. John Fox got more out of Tarik Cohen than the Bears are this year. Anthony Miller has regressed significantly. They spent $6MM on Mike Davis and apparently had no plan for how to use him. David Montgomery is not an improvement over Jordan Howard.

Allen Robinson is only putting up some numbers because there is almost literally no other option. And his yards per catch are down significantly from last year.

Well that was a first half of missed opportunities for the Bears. The two missed kicks by Pineiro really hurt right now and likely means the end of his time in Chicago. Offense has at least shown a little bit. Defense has been good aside from a couple plays.
