Book it. 11am Kickoffs with Beth Mowins and those two Illinois kids who did the hoops play by play (boom goes the dynamite). Until further notice.
It would be funny if it weren’t true. 2020: “ok, ok, so I’ll let you have football back.......but only with Beth Mowins!!! Hahaha enjoy Illini fans!”

Just an interesting tidbit to throw around while we all wait for the season ... we are on a 2-game win streak vs. both Rutgers (2018 and 2019) and Michigan State (2016 and 2019), but if we were to beat either Wisconsin or Purdue this year (bringing those streaks to 2), it would be the first time we have beaten either team twice in a row since 2001 and 2002.

Brown's goal is to average 6 yards per carry and feels that the team can do the same. Okay, but no team in the conference did that last year and only four players were able to do it. We averaged 3.8 last year and played a pretty soft schedule. Competition will be stronger this year and our running backs lack experience.
But our O line will be better and more experienced.

Can't wait to watch the Fighting Kingfishers play this fall. I still think we will be a lot better than last year.

I think that you are correct. I think that our tight ends will also add some muscle to the running game. Still, improving from 3.8 to 6.0 is one heck of a jump.

If Brown can carry that 6 yd/game average into the NFL, he'll be the greatest running back (and perhaps the greatest player) in the history of the National Football League!

And he may not even start for this year's Illini team. We must be really good!

Lovie Smith: Wednesday will be first day they can put on pads. Still have a long period of time before we play the games. Few minor injuries but nothing major we need to talk about.

Not sure if this has been addressed, but is the Big Ten season happening completely in isolation or will it still be part of the national scene? As in, will Big Ten teams be included in the rankings (they aren't right now) and bowl/playoff games?

i have not yet seen the rankings but I was told by a UT fan who was hoping for a move up that Ohio State is ranked this week, taking a higher spot from them.
