Pitt? That team isn’t very good.

Washington State isn’t really either but they’re a different animal.
I may have already posted this at some point, but I don't want to play WSU. With their offense, that has a real chance of getting ugly quick. Their defense isn't good and Gordon does turn the ball over (5 picks in last two games with 3 against Oregon St.), but they can put up points. I've watched a couple of their games and one thing I noticed is Gordon rarely throws the ball to the left side of the field -- left hash mark is about the farthest left I've seen him complete a pass. I'd prefer to see the Illini play someone that they more traditionally might go up against recruiting.

Bold: Never noticed the left side specifically but this is common place for Mike. It's a one-read, halves offense.

But yes, they can put up points in a hurry.

I'd be ticked if I were IU. 8-4 record and go to Detroit, while Illinois has a 6-6 record and goes to CA.
Fair. Hard to say, they may travel better to Detroit.

Indiana just played in the Redbox 2-3 years ago, California was always a low-end possibility. That and the conference having 4 other non-CFP/Rose Bowl teams with clearly superior resumes complicated their case.

I have an old in Lubbock, TX that I'll swap you, straight up.

The QuickLane really isn't a terrible bowl. It's not ideal but it's got a nice payout, it's an ACC game now and Indiana should travel well to that area ( I think?). For the Hoosiers, it could be a lot worse. I wouldn't mind that game for us either. Again, it could be a lot worse.

I could see Indiana in the TaxSlayer Bowl in Jacksonville, too. Or Pinstripe.

If they get into the TaxSlayer, that means you’ve bumped one of Iowa, Minnesota, Michigan or Penn State to the QuickLane. That ain’t happening.

As for the PinStripe, this whole conversation was ignited by a report that MSU officials are in talks for that game.

My family is in the Detroit suburbs, and I'll be in town so if Illinois or MSU is in the game I'm probably going. The question is whether I'll be rooting for or against the Big Ten representative...
