The highest goal differential in a season is +71 set by Chelsea in 09/10.

The most points in a season is 95 set by Chelsea in 04/05.

The most wins in a season is 30 set by Chelsea last year.

The most goals scored in a season is 103 set by Chelsea in 09/10.

As we're nearing the halfway point in the season, Man City is on pace to shatter all of these records. They also obviously have a chance to go undefeated and join 03/04 Arsenal as the only team to do so. Incredible if they keep this up.

Everton gets goals from 3 different players (Calvert-Lewin, Sigurdsson, and Rooney on a PK) on the way to a 3:1 win today over Swansea.

Toffees remain unbeaten under Big Sam with 4 wins and a draw since the coaching change, and they now sit 9th in the Premier League table.

They host Chelsea on Saturday and travel to West Brom on Boxing Day.

Everton loses 2:1 at Bournemouth today. Deciding goal was scored on a deflection off an Everton defender late. Match ended up a couple different streaks as Everton had not lost a match with Big Sam in charge and Bournemouth had not won 8 straight coming into today's match.

Toffees have a quick turnaround as they'll host Manchester United on New Year's Day.

One other note to add about Everton. The first 3 matches they'll play in 2018 will be plenty tough. They host Manchester United on New Year's Day. Then they have the Merseyside Derby in the FA Cup at Anfield on January 5th. They then play at Tottenham Hotspur on January 13th.

Yesterday, in between the two good wins, I received an e-mail from LFC with a Jurgen Klopp video of well wishes for my birthday. It was fun and made my morning and added to a thoroughly enjoyable holiday weekend for this fan.

Playing without Salah and Coutinho again will make the derby even more than the customary challenge on Friday. Happy Holidays IFIHL

Everton adds a striker and loses another player in this transfer window. They've added Turkish striker Cenk Tosun who was playing for Besiktas. Winger Kevin Mirallas who had not played a lot this season thus far looks to be heading back to Olympiakos who he played for prior to moving to Goodison Park.

Oh, and Phillipe Coutinho's transfer from Liverpool to Barcelona is official with him heading to Barcelona for $192.7 million.

Ross Barkely also moved to Chelsea this week.

Mahrez is probably moving to Liverpool.

15 minute time limit expired, so replying to myself (he he).

Parlaying Coutinho into Van Dijk and Mahrez is very good business, especially when you take into account that Coutinho was going to leave. Liverpool played Barca beautifully. Van Dijk isn't worth $100M, but he fills a gaping chasm. Mahrez isn't as good as Coutinho, but he's VVG.

There is speculation on the Anfield site that Keita and possible additions Mahrez and/or Lemar will rotate in in a 4-4-2 heavy alignment as a response to losing Coutinho, with the last few months allowing Klopp to identify and solidify his plans. Certainly hate to lose such a talented player, but the inevitability and a general attitude of "In Klopp We Trust" seems to prevail. Also, VVD made a sterling first impression.

United hijacking city's attempt to buy Sanchez by offering mhki plus cash. Sanchez apparently wants £400k per week plus £15k signing bonus. I say good riddance.
