With that crap showing yesterday in UCL, does Mourinho make it to the start of next season as the Man United manager? I don't think so. We need some new blood, with some offensive minded game.

Give me Julian Nagelsmann from 1899 Hoffenheim!!! Young guy like Fergie was. Offensive minded.

I know in this day and age, Man U won't pull that trigger, but I would love to see it.

Everton won 2:1 at Stoke City. Both goals from Cenk Tosun. First away win for the Toffees since December 13th when they won at Newcastle United.

Bit disappointed that the score wasn't a bit more impressive since one of Stoke's players got sent off with a red card about 30 minutes into the match.

After next week's international break, Everton returns to action at home 2 weeks from now when they host Manchester City.

Manchester City wins 1:3 at Everton. Goals in the first half by Sane, Jesus, and Sterling for Manchester City. Bolassie scored for the Toffees in the 2nd half but at that point the game was out of reach.

Everton hosts the Merseyside Derby next Saturday.

Manchester City can clinch the Premier League title with a win at the Etihad next Saturday over their rivals from Manchester United. If they do so, it will be the earliest the title has ever been clinched in Premier League history.

Merseyside derby finished in a 0:0 draw. Uninspired performance by the Toffees against what was pretty much a B squad for their rivals from Anfield. Didn't even try and attack much until the last 15 minutes which if that was Big Sam's main tactic in this match was kind of an odd one to take.

Everton now are winless in their last 17 matches (in all competitions) against Liverpool.

Everton travel to Swansea City next Saturday.

Glad to see that Man City couldn't clinch the title against Man U in the derby... Granted City didn't play their full lineup, but now they have to be second guessing themselves going into the return leg against Liverpool in the Champions League. The Red Devils get a little breathing room ahead of Liverpool as well for 2nd place in the EPL.

2 upsets in the Champions League Quarterfinals as Liverpool knocks out Manchester City and Roma knocks out Barcelona.

We have our first EFL Championship side clinching their spot in the Premier League for next season. Fulham drew with Brentford today meaning that Wolverhampton Wolves have clinched a spot for promotion next season. The Wolves have played in the Premier League most recently in 2012, which was the end of a 3 year run in the top flight of English football for the club.

Brighton & Hove Albion and Spurs played to a 1:1 draw today.

More mid-week Premier League action tomorrow with Bournemouth-Manchester United at 1:45 PM CT on NBCSN and on Thursday with Burnley-Chelsea on NBCSN and Leicester City-Southampton on NBC Sports Gold with both of those matches also starting at 1:45 PM CT.

The semi-finals of the FA Cup are also being played this weekend with Manchester United vs. Tottenham Hotspur set to air at 11 AM CT on FOX on Saturday and Chelsea vs. Southampton set to air at 9:00 AM CT on Sunday on FS1.

What's gonna be interesting in regards to that first FA Cup semi-final match-up here in the states is that several of the over-the-air FOX stations will be airing Fox News' coverage of Barbara Bush's funeral which is set to begin around the same time. Some FOX affiliates around the country are either moving it to an alternate channel or joining the match in progress after the funeral has ended.

Sunderland, who was relegated out of the Premier League last season, has clinched relegation once again over this past weekend in the EFL Championship and will play in League One next season.

Everton win 1:0 today over Newcastle United. Match certainly wasn't a classic but the Toffees get the 3 points. Lone goal in the match was by Theo Walcott in the 2nd half.

First time Everton have won 5 straight matches in league competition over Newcastle United since 1920.

Toffees next play Saturday at Huddersfield Town.

The FA Cup Final will be contested May 19 at Wembley between Manchester United and Chelsea. Chelsea are officially the home team for administrative purposes.

And it's only the 2nd most important thing happening in England that day.

Fulham FC, owned by Illini alum Shadid Khan, is in 3rd place in the Championship League and has secured a spot in the Championship playoffs at the very least to vie for the 3rd and last promotion spot to the Premier League. They are only one point out of 2nd place, which would earn them a direct promotion to the Premier League, bypassing the playoffs, although 2nd place Cardiff does have a game in hand.

Americans Tim Ream and Luca de la Torre play for Fulham as well.

Thanks for that. Am pulling for Fulham. Besides being owned by Kahn, USMNT great and local boy, Brian McBride, featured for them right when my soccer awakening began. Is Fulham's pub still named McBride's?
