For me, it has nothing to do with Lovie calling the D. The bottom line is there were 2 defensive openings. One was open 3 months, and the other 5 months. One also came with a DC title and salary. With those 2 openings (and available salary), Lovie decided to hire his inexperienced son and a CB coach with 2 years mid major experience. It’s not really fair to Keynodo Hudson. On its own, that’s an acceptable hire as a primary recruiter, which is always needed.
Basically things just aren’t adding up. You had literally months to find assistants, and a DC title and new extension to attract coaching talent, or so we were told. Either nobody wanted these jobs (no strong network with Lovie, no stability, too many restrictions from Lovie), the assistant salary pool has drastically decreased, or some combination of both.
