Because of exactly that reason. You don’t leave your 4th string safety on an island especially since their qb has proven he can throw it downfield

I have more faith in the freshman throwing something bad in a hurry than in our guys defending in the secondary unfortunately when he has time.
I would like to throw a flag on these announcers.
I feel comfortable saying that our pass defense is inadequate. The QB's we play who are completing more than 50% of their passes, will pick us apart. Martinez will go for 600 all purpose yards if the defense plays like this. But not all our opponents will complete better than 50%, thankfully.
