Don’t worry, TC already pulled this one and will remind everybody of msu’s shooting percentage in the post game thread
MSU is taking advantage of the few times our defense breaks down and is hitting at a high clip. 2nd half will be a completely different game when MSU starts to figure out the pressure defense and cuts the TO's down significantly.
My guess is the foul differential in the second half will doom us
Would love a double digit lead at halftime.

Also something worth noting, we have 9 turnovers, that's too many. We have to keep our TO's down to 6-7 per half.
I agree. Execution has fallen off. The mistake here is, MSU is gassed! Sub now. Push, push, push. We have bench players that can play. GB, DLR, SK can all move (DLR not so much), but they play SEVEN guys.
Make them unable to breathe. You cannot shoot if you cannot breathe.

We might very well lose this game, but it's very encouraging how much stuff we're adding to our toolbelt as we go along this season. Different defenses to throw out there, different little counters to our usual actions on offense, more players we can use in more situations, you can see a system falling into place.
Night and day from last year where we just kept running vanilla wrong over and over and over again. Underwood's coaching was totally neutralized, the players couldn't put his ideas on the floor.
We still make a ton of mistakes, but the overall effect is learning-type mistakes deepening our understanding of what the right things are.

Illini is taking advantage of the few times their offense breaks down and is hitting at a decent clip. 2nd half will be a completely different game when Illini starts to figure out the Izzo offense and increase the TO's significantly.

might be a reason why their shooting at a high clip as well. we’ve only seen them run 15ish sets. the fg%/TO trade off is being put to the test so far.
And, I’m saying right now, “That is our surest way to lose.”
It is our D and the fact they have limited players, that is causing problems for them.
I would think it will all depend on how we come out and play.
I think we will lose, BUT I love that we are the aggressor in this game so far.
