Four B1G teams ranked. We're 5th which lines up well with consensus expectations. Also, when's the last time we were actually ranked ahead of Michigan???

Fact of the matter is that coming off of 12-21, nobody truly knows what the product is. Does it look better on paper? Absolutely. How much better....we'll find out in the next 8 weeks.

The fact that we have "other receiving votes" is a testament to what's on paper.

Yup, really need to see if the team is more like the disorganized mess that started last year, the team that went on a tear in February, or the team that finished the season. We started last season with a lot of hope too....

Not a lot of great individual data from my Underwood contact, but overall sentiment is that 2019/2020 roster is "infectious" and great representative of his brand of basketball. Lots of kids drawn to the culture and recruiting is becoming self-fulfilling. There will be more losses than wins in recruiting due to the numbers game but ultimately the quality of kids signing on is much different than 3 years ago.

Underwood bullish on guys on roster that are somewhat overlooked (Damonte Williams for one) due to defensive compete. BU's not cocky but definitely starting to feel the "no one will like playing us" mindset based on the character of the current group. Much different than the schizophrenic teams of recent vintages.

Just saw article on AP preseason All-American team. Cassius Winston was named on all 65 ballots. Lamar Stevens was only other B1G player to get any votes (1), which, of course, means Ayo got none. Hope he uses that as some big-time motivation.

From the prediction thread last year it looks like we were not nearly as hopeful as we are this year. 13-18 or 14-17 seemed to be very common predictions. It seems that 16-15 was our realistic ceiling last season.

Without any unexpected hiccups, a win on Nov 10th leads to an early season ranking.

@ #21 AZ.
Just did a quick look at their incoming class, and they certainly have talent:

#9 PG
#13 SF
#40 PF
Previous year they had a pair of 4 stars, and they still have Chase Jeter, who made over 57% of his shots. Gonna be a big road test.
