He's not Wooden or Knight level. Roy is better. He's on same tier as Cal.Izzo is an elite level coach. I would put him in the same tier as Roy, Cal, K, Wooden, Knight, etc.

Agree to disagree. Izzo is Top 10 all time in my mindHe's not Wooden or Knight level. Roy is better. He's on same tier as Cal.
Glad it's in your mind but he isn't.Agree to disagree. Izzo is Top 10 all time in my mind
LOL ... this about to go off the railsAgree to disagree. Izzo is Top 10 all time in my mind
10 should be higherLOL ... this about to go off the rails
Top 10 all-time in no particular order:
- John Wooden - UCLA
- Bobby Knight - Indiana
- Mike Krzyzewski - Duke
- Adolph Rupp - Kentucky
- Dean Smith - North Carolina
- Jim Calhoun - UConn
- Lute Olson - Arizona
- Jim Boeheim - Syracuse
- Lou Henson - Illinois
- Brad Underwood - Illinois
I would STRONGLY disagree with you on that on account of John Wooden. He is a better person than any of those guys.
Not sure if you're kidding or not, Dr. Strangelove. My favorite Izzo moment was his staunch defense of Weber when he was fired, presumably because he wanted to have one more team he didn't have to worry about beating him in subsequent seasons.
lolNot sure if you're kidding or not, Dr. Strangelove.
If not, this was a BS narrative put forth by Weber-haters.
I think the vast majority of Illini fans saw Izzo's comments as a pretty large over step. Not saying I agree with him but truth be told, Izzo felt his long-time personal friend was run out of town by folks who don't know anything about how to run a basketball program. Win/loss record notwithstanding, Izzo respects Bruce and felt Bruce represented the BigTen well.
+7500 in June.File this under things you love to see. Illinois with (basically) the same title odds as Duke as the season starts.

Thanks for sharing, Kat. What an amazing article. Hawkins just shot up my list of favorite players on the team. That section on how he has been focusing on learning each of his teammate's tendencies so he can set them up for success demonstrates rare maturity for a freshman. He thinks like a PG or a setter in volleyball. I think we got a really good one in Hawkins and I can see why BU is so excited about what he can bring to the table. My apologies if this has already been posted, but this is a great write up on Coleman Hawkins. I liked him before but definitely have a larger soft spot for him now.
The long game: Hoops upbringing prepares Hawkins for B1G role
I was pleasantly surprised by Hawkins on the floor so early in the season. Played with confidence and has very good feet for such a big, young kid. He's going to be a really good 4 yr (maybe 5 now) player for us. Needs to bulk up of course. Thanks for sharing, Kat. What an amazing article. Probably right. It's easy to view Izzo's statement as heresy if it flies in the face of what you believe and want.lol

Still seeing #16.Now ranked #12 in Kenpom after two games.
The official Nebraska site shows 20 conference games: 2020-21 Men's Basketball Schedule - University of Nebraska (huskers.com)I was just looking generally at KenPom and seeing that not every team in the B1G has a projected 20 game record.
Some are only 18 games. Then I looked at the detail and Nebraska, to pick one team, really truly only does have 18 conference games.
That seems really odd to me. Does anyone know if this is true or do they just have games that aren't scheduled yet?
If it is true, why is this the case? Schedules are already unbalanced somewhat by the single game matchups, but 18 games vs 20 games seems truly odd.
