As for this position group... I think it would be very cool to see Beason at NB. That way you can still start Hobbs and Martin, and that accounts for Ware getting his reps in mostly at SAM.
Beason starts, IMO. That type of speed is elite.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.ce...university/psu-football/article229416714.htmlRumor has it that PSU QB Tommy Stevens is transferring to Illinois. Grad transfer, immediately eligible. Think he's better than Bush was.

I’m not saying your source is wrong, I don’t know. I haven’t heard anything about him to Illinois. I’ve heard Mississippi state is his likely destination.
JMO but the starting quarterback for our Fighting Illini will be someone not at UI yet, 5th year transfer. BEAT AKRON.
About a month, apparently. So at which point is it safe to actually count him as part of the roster? I'm only partially joking
Regarding Brissett or Stevens? No post Ever spoke so much truth. Wonder what happened? @illini0440 , heard anything?
Regarding Brissett or Stevens?
Mutual interest between us and Stevens but can we guarantee him the starting job? And for Brissett some outside voices are starting to creep into his head about Illinois QB situation etc.Yes. Both. Please.
I think you got it backwards. VT is half the distance. Obviously 200 vs 100 miles is not the same as GA vs IL, but if they granted this kid a waiver Luke Ford's case would be a slam dunk. This doesn’t look the same. He moved from a school that is 1 hour away to a school that is two hours away from his hometown
Its amazing you post almost word to word whats on the 247 premium board.
His hometown is in North Carolina, but Virginia Tech is closer than Coastal Carolina, which is in South Carolina.Oh, i thought it said his hometown was in North Carolina. My bad. Not sure why my post disappeared.
A few points I read elsewhere. Two reasons were cited for denying the exception: the distance was 5 miles over the allowed radius (Ford is 90 miles over) and his mother's health is improving and not debilitating and requiring ongoing medical care (I have no idea about Ford's grandparents, and whether they would count as immediate family). And another key point: he did not hire an attorney. Interestingly, there is thought that he could have tried for a waiver due to a coaching change, as Tate Martell did, and gotten that instead of a family medical hardship waiver.New story posted on Illini inquirer about NCAA denying waiver for immediate eligibility of a player who transferred to va tech. He wanted to play closer to home to play in front of family with health issues. Sounds similar to Ford
NCAA Transfer Waiver Denied for OL Brock Hoffman
