Excited we’ll get a shot at a top ten Maryland squad on Friday in OUR house!
I agree were probably "Golden" (my def is making the tourney).I think IL has to go at least 2-4 in the next four games and their best chance of doing that (IMO) is by winning the next two. They need more quad 1 wins and MD & MSU will do that. If they can go 2-4 they are fine if they take care of business after the next four which they should. They have four away games left. Most of their top B10 competitors have five away games. Protect home court and we're golden.

if your goal is B10 champion... I think we'll have to be better than 2 and 4.

That's my goal, too. Granted, jumping from the cellar to winning the conference title would be nothing short of historic. The 98/99 to 99/2000 comparisons are getting pretty eerie at this point.I've got it stuck in my head that we should get a double-bye in the BIG tournament. I.e. top 4 finish in the conference. That might seem like a low bar given we've made it to first place, but if you consider how tough the schedule is, and that six teams have 3 or 4 losses, it's not such a bad goal IMO.
In 2010, we beat #5 Michigan State on 2/6. Basically the same time in the regular season...A win on Friday would tie 2013 for the latest in the regular season we have recorded a top ten victory, with that season of course being Griffey finishing off #1 Indiana. Before that? 1990!
Yes, but if I recall correctly the 98/99 Big10 was very strong with many ranked teams, whereas the next year there was a notable decline. If we can keep this up, we would be succeeding in a very strong year - a more difficult achievement. That's my goal, too.
