I agree, TF needs to run the O and I love the spread we ran. Let's keep that up. Not a big fan of the dribble weave. They said no turnovers on the radio. Maybe the stats were updated. Outstanding either way. I hope to see more of him with the ball in his hands. I haven’t seen it discussed, but I wonder if playing off the ball puts a taller defender on him making it more difficult to get a clean look.
Wasn't arguing with you at all. In fact, I suggested one of two paths which was getting him hitting at a better clip. Obviously opposing coaches consider him a 3pt liability right now and want to double Kofi and force GB to beat us from the arc. We address that one of two ways...beat them from the arc with GB or find another set that doesn't put him in that position.Fair enough -- I didn't say I wanted GB to chuck threes like he was Stephen Curry, at least not all at once. His percentage comes on relatively few shots from beyond the arc and I've seen what you see -- defenders dropping back. But the point is, he's taken them and made enough of them that it's worth building on. If he makes a few more, those defenders will have to start leaving the paint.
Oh so the win over Michigan currently what, No. 11, doesn't factor in? Interesting, but I'll go with the guys that are paid to talk about hoops v you in this case, I like our chances this year. Plus, success includes recruiting and we have one of our best classes in some time coming in next year. They probably do. Winning one game at home against a bubble team doesn’t change the fact BU hasn’t been successful here to date.
I love to see Ayo driving more, though he chucked a lot of bad one foot on the three point line type shots in this one. My issue with him is his lack of creativity, and the dearth of evidence that he is working to add new moves. He basically only makes straight line drives, so if his defender beats him to the spot, he has no crossover/spin/etc. to get around the other way. And if he does beat the defender, it's either straight to the rim or a Euro-step. It can be effective at times, but way too predictable when going against high-level, veteran defenses like MSU.It appears to me that Ayo is taking it to the rim more frequently and finishing at a very high rate. He also seems much better at the mid range shot. However. He certainly isn’t shooting well enough from three to be a lottery pick.
take a dribble or two to get closer to his defender and shoot a more defended long 2? The other team will live with that too.GB, 3 point shooting against "power" opponents 3-14. His made 3 last night was when the shot clock was running down.. Didn't have as much time to think. I'd like to see him take a dribble or two toward the basket and try to get a rhythm then shoot. The defense is back far enough he doesn't have to shoot a 3.
Having a win against Michigan and still not being projected to make the tournament in year after being some analysts preseason 5th in conference kinda speaks for itself. If you honestly think BU has been a success so far then you have very different expectations for Illinois basketball than I do. He has time to turn it around but there are way more Mizzou showings than Michigan performances on his resume here.Oh so the win over Michigan currently what, No. 11, doesn't factor in?
