Alstork was defending NOBODY on that crucial last defensive possession, then missed both free throws and almost made contact with the guy who caught the rebound. Underwood was screaming at him at the end.

A win is a win. Good third quarter. Bad fourth quarter.

They tried as hard as they could. But I guess eventually you run out of ways to give a game away. No matter how hard you try.

Wow, that was ugly at the end. Jusy curious, why was Underwood chewing out Alstork at the end?

There was 0.1 seconds left on the clock, which is not enough time to get a shot off. After intentionally missing, Alstork, who had no business even being within five feet of the IU player, went and not only guarded him but BUMPED him right in front of the ref. I thought that the final whistle was a foul whistle. It honestly could have been.

Congrats to Brad Underwood for his first B1G win! Same to Frazier, Williams, Smith, Vesel, Eboigbodin, and Alstork.

A win. Ugly game and ugly finish, but like BU just said - that’s Trent’s game to finish and now he’s over the hump. One other good thing besides the ugly win - we overcame a very sluggish start and found energy.

Nobody wants to be excited for next year in January, but i think we’re gonna move WAY up next year.

Disclaimer: please disregard my angry posts during the Wisconsin game that completely contradict this optimism.

The things that happen to us are so mathematically unlikely. Just from a probability standpoint alone, it's insane. Up 6, throw an errant pass then foul to give them an and-1?

A parallel universe must exist in which we are 19-3, both Mark Smith and Mark Alstork are providing competent offense, and Coach Underwood has a promising side hustle as a porn actor.

The Illinois conference losing streak is officially over.

Won at the charity stripe.

On the plus side, I thought that Alstork missed the 2nd FT on purpose, which was smart because you can only tip a ball with 0.1 seconds left. So, with that miss IU cannot win, as a 90 foot "tip" is impossible. Then he runs down the lane and tries to foul the guy tipping the ball. And my respect, which was high, goes to the sewer.

Would have been an all-time record manner of losing. Thank goodness the refs were finished with this game.

Ugly is a compliment for this game.
But, hey, we won. Cookies for everyone !

Alstork may make the dumbest decisions a 5th year senior (or anyone) could possibly make. You are missing the shot on purpose. Just don't touch anyone.

Alstork wasn't really close to fouling, the game was already over. Obviously he shouldn't have crossed the FT line.
