Think there's still an Schollie, unless Samba returns. He still needs to earn the scholarship, filling the scholarship now means you miss a shot at a midyear transfer should one become available. It will look smart only after he contributes.

So we need to recruit the older sisters of our key recruits early...

Like previously mentioned, the recruiting attention for Roper is starting to heat up. In addition to the Illini offer, he already has offers from teams like Wisconsin, Iowa and Akron. So, Illinois is relatively early on this kid’s recruitment. That is always a good thing.
I think this kid's gonna be fun to root for.Austin Hutcherson link:

mentioned he missed parts of sophomore & Jr. year with freak injuries...may explain in part why he went DIII

I'm even more excited to have him on the team now after reading that. The guy had some injuries....made a plan to get to the next level....executed the plan and gets to the next level with the approval of high level trainers. I like this kids potential to contribute next season.Interesting, and promising, article by Gary Parrish on CBSSports.com about Austin Hutcherson.

Well, well, you sure hope AH and Alan Griffin both have positive experiences at Illinois. Their NBA-dads could prove to be very useful connections."And it's a bit overwhelming because of how fast it's happened," acknowledged Austin's father, Eric Hutcherson, who leads the NBA's Human Resources department.
Take a look at the picture in the Parrish article and look at the size of his hands. Huge hands.
I married a girl from McLeansboro! Nice little town. It's McLeansboro, my hometown....
