I've got a count of 22 so far in the 2 year period. So if I'm not mistaken we have 2 OVs to give with 2 more opening up on 1 September. Unless it's not rolling and all 13 OVs used in 2018 open up right away at the start of the 2020 season. I can't remember what the verdict was on that when it was discussed.

I just quickly pulled the visits from 247, their info may not be complete, so if you can think of anyone that's missed, please let me know and I'll update. I think it would be nice if info like this was sticked at the top of recruiting threads or maybe in a thread of its own like the scholarship grid. Not knowing if we've got OVs to give recruits seems to be a constant concern here.
Great list...interesting that we are 0/8 for September OVs...and our take rate declined significantly in past year. I believe we have a better sell this year even though our record declined in 18-19.

So a count of 24, if grad transfers count as OVs, which I'm assuming they do. So no available OVs until September 1st, if they go on a 2 year rotating basis.

I don't think that the grad transfers count as OV's. I think the rules are just for high school recruiting.

I couldn't' find the source document, but I looked this up before and IIRC it was not rolling. It refreshes at the end of August for the 2 year period.

Per ESPN it looks like last year the NCAA moved from 24 to 28 official visits allowed per rolling 2-year period:

"A student-athlete can visit a particular campus only once per year, and Division I schools will now be permitted to pay for 28 official visits over a rolling, two-year period (34 visits for service academies.) The previous totals were 24 official visits for Division I programs and 30 for service academies."

Edit: The summary at this link (interesting and helpful, to the extent random internet search results can be relied upon) indicates that the calendar runs August 1-July 31.

Rolling is being used differently in the ESPN article than the question that was asked about in this thread. Folks were asking if the limit rolled off with each OV, meaning they wanted to know if we had a new OV available whenerver it had been 2 years from a previous OV. That is not the case, which is what my answer pertained to.

So for clarity: "Rolling" is the 2 year period that ends July 31, not a rolling 2 year period from the date you reached the limit. In other words, once we've used all our OVs, we have to wait for Aug 1, not the oldest OV to lapse.

So, do we have 16 OVs on Aug 1, or 28? Or some other number entirely?

We could use up to 16 OV's on August 1, 2019 , but presumably will spread those 16 around between August 1, 2019 and July 31, 2020). On August 1, 2020 we would accumulate another 12, plus still have available however many remain from the 16 we accumulate August 1, 2019.
