If true, something must have changed within the last week or so since some of the other insiders were saying it was a more of a pipe dream. Good news, though!
It still is a uphill battle, but there's at least a chance. Big Mac is the most likely tho. A couple of other 2021s as well

Well then a new lineup is in order maybe?

Two All Beef Patties: Kofi, BBV
Special Sauce: Curbelo, Miller, Etienne
Lettuce: Hawkins, Griffith
Cheese: Frazier, Grandison, Hutchinson
Pickles: Giorgi
Onions: DMFW
Sesame Seed Bun: Underwood, Chin, OA, Gentry, Fletch

IT'S A POSITIONLESS LUNCH!

You guys really underestimate the internet. As soon as someone reports, "Illinois meets with Recruit X..." the first comment is going to be something about how they aren't supposed to be meeting in person.
I'm waiting to hear about a university "cheating" by hosting in-person, on-campus visits ahead of the majority of other schools. I'm sure it's an NCAA prohibition, otherwise we'd be reading about cavalier ADs trying to get an advantage.

This needs to be its own tweet.
From the last 23 years of RSCI rankings, 4 of the top 12 committed in the last three years:

19 D. Brown
20 Cook
21 F. Williams
24 Richmond
28 McBride
*29 Miller*
29 Leonard
*32 Dosunmu*
35 Richardson
37 JCL
*43 Cockburn*
*45 Curbelo*

Based on RSCI winners...Illinois class comes in 10th!

Thanks for posting this Brave. The RSCI has always been the gold standard on here over the years. One can find the 20 year RSCI history by hitting the Home tab on the website.

I believe Audie Matthews was the top recruit in Illinois, and wanted by others like UCLA, but not tops in the country. Audie was a game-changer because he chose Illinois when Illinois was dreadful.

imo Audie was probably a top 10 national recruit and most likely would have been a McDonald's All American had it existed in 1974. A couple more that were in the top 5 range -- Kris Berymon and Derek Harper. Berymon put up ridiculous numbers in high school, but flunked out before playing a game for Illinois.

From the days before the 247 composite, the rsci, the McDonald's AA, and Illinois Mr BB, pretty much all we have to go on are faded memories.

Here are some memory joggers:

We are talking about the top rated Illini basketball recruit, not necessarily the best player. I'd go with Marcus Liberty

Looks like we made the Final 11 of 5 star Langston Love. While this does not mean much let’s take a look at all the 5 stars “final lists” we’ve made so far:
Jalen Hardy
Moussa Cisse
Kendall Brown
Langston Love

And without any further knowledge I would assume we would be in the Top 10 of Michael Foster, Charles Bediako, Franck Kepnang, and Alex Tchikou. We may not land any of these recruits, but once again another impressive accomplishment by Underwood and his staff to be recruiting against the blue bloods. Within a couple years we should be continually sending out some of our most talented rosters of all time.
