CHampaign, Ill. - University of Illinois men's track and field head coach Wayne Angel announced today the hiring of Michael Turk as the new assistant coach for men's track and field at Illinois. Turk comes to Champaign with 20 years of coaching experience at the collegiate level, including 15 years at the NCAA Division I level. Turk's coaching will primarily focus on field events.
"I feel fortunate to have hired someone with the outstanding credentials of Mike Turk," said Angel. "His Midwest roots and strong ties in the Chicago suburbs should reap huge dividends for Illinois down the road. Mike's expertise and technical knowledge of the throws, jumps, and multi events will really enhance our program."
