With all do respect mycitymytime, I don't see any recovery. We are as bad as in the Beckman era. Can him now. Start the search for a proven coach.Lovie helped us recover from a bad few years and I am thankful for his commitment to the program. Littyville is phenomenal, but...and a big BUT...we are not showing progress. We need new leadership and I would imagine that even Lovie knows this. Been a tough year with COVID, but you can’t fail to show up like this. Not good.
I agree with you 100%.I think the Lovie experiment is about over.
Lovie won't allow them to tackle in practice. It really blows my mind to see Division 1, big ten players who can't tackle. But hey our coach is defensive genius.
Perhaps. You may be right. We were in pretty bad shape then. Our talent level is better, but the coaching is not keeping up with that. With all do respect mycitymytime, I don't see any recovery. We are as bad as in the Beckman era. Can him now. Start the search for a proven coach.
If you stink, play calling is irrelevant. Of course I did not see the game. Penalty killers? We got that hockey team starting?Where was Ford in this game ? You cannot blame all this on the playing a 4th string QB. The secondary, too many penalty killers on both sides of the ball , and play calling have been consistently bad this season. We also show our lack of depth on both offense and defense.
I disagree. The foundation is there for an up and coming coach to come in and go to a bowl game in year 1. I could see someone coming in and pulling off what Jeff Brohm did his first couple years at purdue. It'll definitely take awhile to take this program to a 8+ win level though. It's going to be so hard to rebuild this train wreck
Nope (as in nobody else). Zuppke's last 6 seasons were 17-27. Moeller (6-24-3), Valek (8-32), and Beckman (16-28) never made 50 games. In our last 51 games under Lovie, we have a record of 14-37. Does anyone know if that is the worst 51 game stretch in Illini football history?
