Does anybody else feel like this actually hurts us? Say a Bowl has the ability to pick a 5-4 illinois or a 4-8 sec team. If allowed, you can probably count on the sec team to travel more, buy more tickets, hotel rooms, merchandise, etc. than an Illini group.

you’re also aided by the fact that most bowls are already set in the warmer weather of the south and many of those sec fans wouldn’t have to travel as far. I just feel like this relegates to a lesser bowl than we’re worthy of.

Actually it helps schools like Illinois and the Big Ten in general. We tend to have larger alumni bases and we're more spread throughout the country. Being spread out helps with bowl game travel because there a thousands of alum that see it as a quick regional trip or perhaps local. It's one of the reasons our conference is the most lucrative.

Will the Bowls and host cities be showing fans love in the times of Covid?
