Peters has already reached 7 touchdown passes in 2019. How many TD passes are you expecting by the end of the season? For context, leading total TD passes (and passing attempts) over the past 10 seasons.

2009 - Juice Williams 12 TD's (227 passing attempts)
2010 - Nathan Scheelhaase 17 TD's (264 passing attempts)
2011 - Nathan Scheelhaase 13 TD's (291 passing attempts)
2012 - Reilly O'Toole 6 TD's (87 passing attempts) - Scheelhaase had 4 TD's in 246 passing attempts
2013 - Nathan Scheelhaase 21 TD's (430  passing attempts)
2014 - Wes Lunt 14 TD's (241 passing attempts)
2015 - Wes Lunt 14 TD's (481  passing attempts)
2016 - Wes Lunt 8 TD's (232 passing attempts)
2017 - Jeff George Jr. 7 TD's (181 passing attempts)
2018 - AJ Bush 6 TD's (217 passing attempts)

22 seems about right. I expect it to go down as we get into tougher opponents and rely more on our rushing attack.

I like this discussion. I am going to say 26. I think our running game is not going to be as productive this year and will need to pass more. With the WRs we have on the field....why freeking not!

I'll take 24. What is the prize? A bowl game? I'll take a bowl game.

2018 - AJ Bush 6 TD's (217 passing attempts)

Well, one need look no further than this stat to understand our woes over the last several years...

Peters may not be the best quarterback in the B1G, but I think Rod will use him more for passing vs prior OC's here. So with that and him being a slight "plus" QB (certainly by Illini standards), this number doesn't seem unreasonable at all (it's slightly less than 2 per game after his first seven).

Not sure but I'll predict that he throws more TDs to tight ends than any of those QBs that you listed.

Wow, he's already got more than AJ Bush?

The correct number is 22. Twenty-two.

By the way, Peters is essentially the QB that I had (irrationally) hoped that George Jr. was gonna be.

I was going to say 19 but ILL_INI beat me to it. I’m going to say 20.

Peters has happy feet and takes awhile to settle. There’s going to be at least one game this year where he throws 0 TDs.

As always, I hope I’m wrong and he throws like 28.
