IIRC, that 2005 Illinois team had a couple of star guards. The Wisconsin guards are good, but the strength of the 2015 Wisconsin team is the frontcourt. So in that regard the two teams are very different.No. they don't.
Though UW has lost one more game than Illinois in 2005, that extra loss was a game in which the best player never played and the point guard was injured and out for the season early in the second half when the team was ahead by 8 or 10.
In terms of dominating the league, Wisconsin is close to what Illinois was in 2005. We'll see how the tourneys play out.
I expect Illinois to beat Michigan's depleted team.
Trae Jackson almost certainly will not play this week.
Purdue vs Iowa (if the Hawkeyes win to get there) should be brutal. Kaminsky was concussed by a flying Purdue elbow and Woodbury has tried to blind three players with his finger pokes. The Boilers should wear goggles and the Hawks helmets.
