Spartans felt like they were out-toughed last game and plan on trying to rectify this today .....

Should be a great game and I hope being home tips the scales in our favor. Unfortunately, I don't think the Illini ever seem to have the home court advantage at AH that other teams seem to have in the league. Maybe Groce needs to pull a Roy Williams and call our fans out? Fear the Paign needs to become a reality once again.

No home court advantage? We've lost once at home this year and Dan Dakich called Illinois home crowd one of the loudest fan bases he's seen this season.

I agree.

Krush is has been really good this season (at least from my POV :thumb:), but it takes more than just the students to make a good home court advantage.

The Michigan and Indiana games are the exceptions, but for the most part there have been a lot of empty seats and the people that DO show up don't make much noise. It is what it is, though. The beloved are going for 13-1 at the SFC tonight--that's fantastic.

USA today preview

About the Spartans (18-8, 9-4): Once a bubble team in trouble, Michigan State is inching further away from missing the NCAA tournament cut. Additionally, the Spartans are well positioned to finish near the top of the Big Ten standings. Senior forward Branden Dawson hasn't exactly had the All-American season he was expected to have, but he's still averaging a double-double (12.4 ppg, 10.1 rpg) and coming up big when it counts — finishing with 23 points and 13 rebounds in a Feb. 17 victory against Michigan.

Defense will win this game. Need to force MSU to take tough, contested shots and must box out and crash the defensive boards to keep Sparty from getting second-chance points. Like our chances a lot, especially if RR can contain Valentine, whom I'd guess he'll guard the majority of the game.

Not getting a lot of love nationally today. Being picked to lose by most. At the MI/tOSU halftime, the commentators said that IL is the most marginal of the B1G bubble teams and has no room for missteps. On the other hand, they said Purdue is safely in the tournament now!!????!!! :tsk: Just have to go out and prove them all wrong.

Play as tough as we did vs. Bucky and we'll get stomped.

Gonna have to dig deep to win this one.

Unfortunately, the dance card agrees with them: http://www.unf.edu/~jcoleman/dance.htm.

That said, a win today would help change our projection.

That's not what he tweeted. He tweeted that "Nunn's 3 to tie the game (UM game) was the loudest I've heard a crowd all year long." Not exactly the same.
