1)Tonight. Classic trap game right here if they figure playing at home will take care of MN for them.

I'm actually not worried about this. We've got a very weird situation where the last time we had a true home crowd (with students) we were....not very good? Now they're back and we are on a tear and at the top of the conference. It's going to be like we're playing in a different building tonight.

I'm definitely overthinking this but I wonder if the noise might affect us negatively too.

Haven't really had a good team to cheer for since the SFC renovation. Looking forward to seeing what the vibe is like. AH used to be absolutely intimidating. I've been of the opinion that the renovations diminished AH's reputation as a sacred and imposing basketball place. But maybe we've just needed a good team to get behind.

The renovations absolutely made SFC a better basketball venue. The craptastic product on the court is what diminished the reputation as an imposing place to play for opponents. The renovations moved more students close to the court, including right behind the benches. The renovation only helps.

Kinda surprised this game isn’t sold out yet. They just announced the Maryland has officially sold out.

I wanted to go to this one, but it's hard to get down there for a weeknight game. Some people might be running into that.

Grand Canyon game?
Well I kinda meant the fact that it's a home game and we wont be accustomed to being at home and playing in a loud environment.

But like I said, mostly overthinking. And a desire to come up with excuses early and often for disappointment, bred from too many Brad Davison-like punches over the years with this team.

Are they closer though? If you check out the before and after photos it looks like we moved students off the floor and moved the baseline seating farther away from the court. I've been fortunate to sit pretty close to the court before and after the renovations, and looking up toward the rafters in the old assembly hall, one would see an unbroken sea of orange from top to bottom. Today, that sea, even on its best nights, is dissected with suites and luxury boxes and that wall behind the lower level. Not to mention reduced capacity.

It's a minor quibble though, as I do like the State Farm Center and believe it's only a matter of time before it returns to glory.

The key to this game, as with every other game with this team IMO, is establishing the physicality of it on every possession from the jump. Defense, defense, defense.
So many important facets to this one. Limiting our TOs has been another reason we have played better. Lets force a few TOs ourselves and rebound limiting second chance points and do the things you mentioned and get Win tonight . Michigan didnt turn it over hardly at all and that is the only reason they had a chance in that one. The hall is sold out tonight lets keep it that way going forward!

The orange seats behind the benches brought a lot more students closer to the court than they were on the other side, due to the tiered seats. Granted they aren't directly on the floor like on the other side, there are more of them closer and more effectively loud due to being behind the benches. And this ignores the entire south end that is full of students that was only a few rows of bleachers before. It keeps all of the student noise in the lower bowl, when before it was a select group on the court and the rest spread up a single column all the way up through the old C section.

It also brought a lot more regular seats closer to the court in the lower bowl on the west side. Trust me, in the (very few) times there's been a need to get loud since the renovation, the renovation certainly made the stadium much louder on the court.

Yep, and it got rid of seeing all of the old season ticket holders behind the bench sitting down the whole game, or not using their tickets leaving a bunch of empty seats. I guess that probably helped more for TV appearances, but that was considered a good thing as well.
