Looks like a smart strategy to maintain that #9 ranking until a competent QB can play again. #COVIDPartyatChrystsHouse

I'm glad we got drubbed in what could be the only game Wisconsin will play this season. :ROFLMAO:

Paul Chryst now isolating with positive Covid test result, along with 11 others. What are the chances that no Illini get this? Did Chryst and Lovie exchange handshakes/talk at the end of the game?

There was an awkward elbow bump, as opposed to a fist bump, followed by an embrace. The virus is contagious, but not as contagious as some fans appear to think or the Wisconsin team and coaches would have a 100% positivity rate. The virus is primarily transmitted through respiration, the game was played outside, there are a limited number of plays and a limited opportunity where players would be breathing in air expelled by an infected player. I think the risk is fairly low for an Illinois player or coach to catch it from the game. Well, at least that's what I'm hoping.

Seems like this should go in the L column for Wisconsin.

I think the Illini defensive players will be ok. None of them got within 6 feet of any of the Wisconsin players. The Illini offense should be concerned, it will be hard to replace their production.

Was curious why they only had eye shields for most of the players and not covering the full facemask. Seems like that would help out greatly. Fogging issues with the full mask, perhaps?

The most shocking thing here to me is that zero tested positive on game day and they now have 12. That is incredible.

Not a doctor here, and didn't stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night. Just lurking way too much on newsfeeds addressing this virus.

I am guessing that the subject A contracted it Thursday/Friday. It doesn't seem to test positive for a couple/few of days. One of the reasons that it seemed pointless to test all the World Series players today, after being exposed last night to Turner. Wait a couple/few days, quarantine in the mean time.

What's interesting is Wisconsin didn't meet the threshold set by the big 10 before the season on when to cancel games. All the schools agreed to the protocols and risk metrics. If a team unilaterally makes the decision to cancel then it shouldn't it count as a forfeit?

They would probably award a 1-0 season rather than gift us a retroactive win(I wouldn't want that even if we could get it).

Let's hope the team can adapt and execute and win on the football field going forward, and of course that everyone stays negative.

The Nebraska game should be a forfeit - its not Nebbie's fault Wisconsin got infected and from the pictures being bandied about - it looks like Alvarez was taunting the virus. I get that could potentially incent teams to try to hide testing - but testing should be 3rd party managed by the B1G if it is not already. 4th string QB - that's life in this environment - show up or forfeit.

I'm a little shocked I feel this way, but I find myself empathizing with Nebraska here. Wisconsin has a mini-outbreak, forcing the cancellation of their upcoming game with Nebraska. Game will not be rescheduled. Wisconsin faces no additional penalty. Nebraska is blocked from pursuing a reasonable mitigation option. That sucks.

I wonder if there is a way for both teams to have a cross-over game cancelled for the same week so they could reschedule this week's game. Seems to me there should be an effort to have the teams in the division play each other over these cross-overs.

I don't know why but I'm getting an odd amount of enjoyment watching Nebraska and the Big Ten knock heads at seemingly every turn.
That'll teach em for mouthing off early on. Seriously, NO other team/school/league should be entering the 'bubble' we've taken a ton of effort and time to try and build (Thanks Wisconsin). There's no way they would risk the league on an outside team at this point - regardless of their testing status.

I get your point, but it was made clear from the beginning that there would be no make up games. I’m sure not everyone agreed, but it is what it is and trying to change that now would be a mistake imo.

Yep. Cases spiking everywhere including C/U. I haven’t heard what’s happening on campus, but hard to imagine it‘s not an issue there too.
