Its definitely feeding the K-St fans while things are going well. Sounds horribly empty after what we saw the last few years around here

Someone has to email that guy and correct him. The Illinois program might not ever have been much higher than when Self left.
Just watch, though, what happens to the rhetoric if he starts to struggle.

You all need to read the article. He doesn't say Weber took over a struggling program. He says Weber went public with a play hard chart after we had been struggling (16-19).

It should come as no surprise that Weber took the chart with him after 20 years as Keady’s assistant. When Weber was at Illinois, he used it to rejuvenate a struggling program.

Ok I re-read it and it was around for a while and then went public when we struggled. Still it didn't really help us when it did go public here

Definitely written in a way that made it sound like BW took over a struggling program here though. Clarified way down in the article. Interestingly written - still don't like it much

is not the same as, "When Weber took over at Illinois, he used it to rejuvenate a struggling program."
If you read the entire article, he says when were struggling, our record was 16-19, no one thinks that's when Weber took over.

What you're saying is definitely not how it reads to me.
The author said that BW took the charts with him to rejuvenate a struggling program.
Then later in the article, the author says that after the 16-19 finish, he then made the charts public.

I would have still worded the article more along the lines of "during a struggling season" or something in that respect. Of course maybe we are a struggling program....although things will turn around quickly I hope

It's disingenuous at best. The implication is the program was struggling when he took over, maybe just poor wording by the author but it's there. Second, no mention of why the program was struggling since it wasn't doing so when he did take over.

Lol exactly. The author never mentions that the reason the program was struggling was because BW couldn't recruit whatsoever (and this was right after we were practically America's team in our Final Four run).

Well yeah, we're a struggling program NOW... I wonder who's fault that is?

I would hope Cats fans would be smart enough to recall the disastrous way Weber's final season at Illinois ended, but on the other hand, you can't blame them for drinking the purple (gray?) Kool-Aid and forgetting this minor detail.

Those charts are stupid. A play hard chart? Really? If I was coaching and the player was not playing hard, his butt would be on the bench..end of story. You dont need a chart for something that every player should always been doing..Its stupid.

This is probably why Keady used to shove him around on the sidelines.

Since the results were in the order you mention, you can call that struggling.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm sick of watching our train wreck of a program spiral downwards while Bruce and the KState press continue to feed the narrative that he had our program going in the right direction and got a raw deal. So effin frustrating...
