Jon Ekey transferring to Illinois

"I just think it's the Big Ten," Ekey said of his decision to attend Illinois. "It's one of the conferences growing up I wish I could play in. It has some of the best teams in the country. It's close to where I've been the last four years. I have a lot of my friend here. Illinois has a great business school. It's just a great school.

"Being able to go somewhere I could use my skills that I have as a stretch 4-man and just for a team that wanted to use what I can do was important. I can contribute in any way whether it's starting or coming off the bench and scoring."
