Winter Break

Okay already, it's been 3 days. What, no basketball until Sunday!? And we're expected to do what in the meantime...?
The problem with following the most entertaining and dominant team in college basketball is that you get spoiled when they play so many games in such a short timeframe. It should make sense that, after six games in two weeks, a full week of rest is much-deserved for the squad. Unfortunately, a fan's insatiable appetite grows larger with each victory.
Life is indeed pretty sweet when your team is #1. The national media heap on the attention, the fan base is percolating, and the most anxiety-producing issue of the day is trying to figure out what the team nick-name should be (if there should even be one). Plus, there's the entertaining chit-chat from delusional archrivals. What a time to be an Illini.
Although no one sent us picts from the last contest, we understand that it takes time for a young site to gain momentum with its burgeoning base of regular visitors. On your next trip to watch the Illini, please remember to pack that digital camera and share your orange and blue memories with Illinois Loyalty. If you're in need of some good picts right now there's quite a few gems here, plus a nice video archive here (alert - some of those clips are joyous tearjerkers).
