The metamorphosis of the Illinois men's basketball team from big story in college basketball to big sports story was completed this weekend as they received two feature stories in the paper of record, the New York Times.
Since Tuesday, when Illinois became the sole undefeated men's college basketball team left in the land, the media din has turned into frenzy. Every half-hour a new story emerges online, plus the team gets mention on nearly every game Prime Time ESPN contest.
