Only 14 games were needed for the Illinois men's basketball team to win its 2nd straight outright Big Ten championship. The Illini won the title this afternoon when the resurgent Indiana Hoosiers gave 2nd place Michigan St. their 3rd conference loss in overtime.
If Illinois defeats Purdue on Senior Night (they will) and Ohio St. at "the Schott" on Sunday (they should), they'll become the first team since the legendary undefeated 1976 Hoosiers squad to go undefeated in Big Ten conference play.
