February 12, 2006 11:34 PM
In their first action since the stunning home loss to Penn St., Illinois was buried today by #19 Ohio St. in Columbus. The Buckeyes went crazy from the 3pt line, going 8-12 in the first half to build an 11-point halftime lead. In a text-book example of how not to start the 2nd half, Jamar Butler was able to convert two 3s off two Illini turnovers in the opening 52 seconds. Ohio St. had a sizable double-digit lead from there onuntil Chester Frazier's hustle ignited a mini-run for Illinois that cut the lead to 9but tOSU closed the door and finished the game 13-23 from behind the arc.
