Barn Burners

Ah, there's nothing like a solid road victory at a tough Big Ten venue. Minnesota was the first Illinois opponent since UNC in the 2005 National Championship game to shoot over 50%, but the Illini were just as effective on offense and withstood a few late Gopher runs to pull out a 71-65 victory tonight at Williams Arena. With one game remaining in the regular season, it will take a longshot Northwestern upset of Ohio St. in Evanston tomorrow to give Illinois a chance to play for a share of the Big Ten title Saturday morning at Michigan St. (Tickets are still available).
