Illini Let it Slip Away

Marcus Arnold's two free throws at 3:37 gave Illinois a 61-58 lead over Indiana at a hostile Assembly Hall Saturday afternoon, but sadly that ended up being the final points for the Illini. The string of turnovers and missed shots which followed erased the great effort from the previous 36 minutes which gave Illinois a golden chance to seal a critical Big Ten road win. The 65-61 loss drops Illinois to 6-6 in the Big Ten, and makes the final 4 games must-wins for a shot at the NCAA tournament. Filed under: Illini Basketball, Indiana Hoosiers
