Beasely is a bigger risk vs. reward, and Rose is a more sure-thing. It's been proven time and time again that unless you have someone on your team named MJ, you need a dominant big man. The Celtics had Garnett (and dominated the paint vs. the Lakers), the Spurs had Duncan (the Cavs had no one but LeBron, to begin with, so this series was a wash, anyways), and the Heat had Shaq when more often then not, he still commanded a double team. Before that Duncan was MVP, I believe, and before that Detroit had 2 good big men in the Wallaces. Before that was the Lakers with Shaq for 3 years in a row...
