Arch Rivalry - Illinois vs Missouri

#20 Illini go down to #6 Missouri in shootout, 52-42

Yesterday's border battle in the Edward Jones Dome had a familiar ring: lots of yards, lots of points, a big Missouri lead early followed by a late Illinois comeback. In the end, Missouri's 24-pt explosion in the 2nd quarter resulting in a 31-13 halftime lead was much-too-much to overcome despite a splendid aerial show by Juice Williams in the 2nd half.

The usual suspects for the Tigers did the most damage. Chase Daniel was solid with 323 yards (26-45-1) and 3 TDs, and Jeremy Maclin had 145 all-purpose yards including a game-changing 99-yd kickoff return.

Juice had a monster day through the air, 451 yards (26-42-2) and 5 TDs. Will Judson and Chris Duvalt each had 2 TD receptions, and Arrelious Benn had 154 all-purpose yards. Juice's 451 yards is 3rd-best on the all-time Illini passing yardage list, and 5 TDs ties him at #2 on the all-time passing TD list. (Source).
