Defensive line strategy

What's the deal here? Who's making the decision to not play Josh Brent (is he hurt?) and to play Will Davis almost exclusively at DT when he is one of the top 10 DEs in the country, most likely? He's not at all affective at DT, especially against the run. Did anyone ever consider that we have gaping holes in the middle of our D Line when the other team runs the ball because we're playing DEs out of position at DT?
