Miami Thomas out for season - ACL

A Sunday morning MRI brought the expected bad news for Illinois' Miami Thomas: He's out for the season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament.
The sophomore defensive back from Morgan Park went down without contact in the first quarter of Saturday's 47-21 victory over Eastern Illinois.
Thomas, who started for the first time in last season's regular-season finale against Northwestern, got his second start Saturday as coach Ron Zook moved Dere Hicks to safety.
