Recruiting class brings hope to Illini
Illinois' long-awaited four-player men's basketball recruiting class signed on the dotted line Wednesday, giving fans a measure of hope at a time when hope is badly needed.
D.J. Richardson, Brandon Paul, Joseph Bertrand and Tyler Griffey made good on their verbal commitments and in the process give coach Bruce Weber reason to believe his recruiting fortunes are turning in a more favorable direction. If the 2010 class that currently includes Jereme Richmond, Crandall Head and Meyers Leonard hold true, Illinois will have added seven quality players, the kind that can change this program's fortunes.
