Zook's post-mortem; Hardeman and Miami Thomas will have surgery

2. Junior safety Donsay Hardeman will undergo neck surgery on Friday and miss spring practice. Zook expects a full recovery from this disc injury that apparently started bothering Hardeman in the Nov. 1 game with Iowa.

3. Sophomore cornerback Miami Thomas, who took a redshirt year after wrecking his knee during the non-conference schedule, will undergo shoulder surgery and also will miss the spring.

4. Zook said the Illini are looking into junior-college offensive linemen and linebackers since they could be quite young there next year.
