Kraig Appleton confirms Illinois

East St. Louis wide receiver Kraig Appleton, who this summer told The News-Gazette he made a verbal commitment to Illinois, but never made an official announcement, reconfirmed his intentions after the Flyers won the Class 7A state championship 33-14 against Geneva on Saturday at Memorial Stadium.
"This whole game just changed everything," Appleton told The News-Gazette on Saturday. "I know for sure that I'll be at Illinois next year. Just say that."
