Chester Frazier can't practice but will play

Chester Frazier
Under ideal conditions, Chester Frazier would get two to three weeks to heal his injured thigh after being hurt during a practice last week. But instead of sitting out, Frazier will be allowed to skip practices and play in games as the Illini continue a stretch of six games in 13 days Tuesday night against Clemson in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge.

Coach Bruce Weber said Frazier did some rehab and watched film Sunday when the team practiced despite returning from the South Padre Island Invitational at 3 on Sunday morning. Frazier is considered critical to the effort against undefeated Clemson.

"I doubt he'll do anything (Monday)," Weber said. "We have to grind it out the next 10 days. I don't think he'll have much practice time -- shoot-arounds and stuff like that. ... Then we'll give him 10 days of total rest to see if he gets back. They're saying two to three weeks to get it totally healed."
