Champaign on ice greets Hawaii

The University of Hawai'i men's basketball team was greeted in Champaign, Ill., by light snow and temperatures in the teens yesterday.

"The flight was smooth, everything was on time," Hawai'i head coach Bob Nash said. "But it's cold ... real cold."

"It's a great opportunity for us to go into a very good venue, against a very good team," Hawaii coach Bob Nash said. "Great fans, something that we aspire to get our fans to, the color coordination, the chants, all that stuff. It's a storied history of their program, and we're fighting all that going there. But I think it's something our kids need to experience and get us ready for the (Western Athletic Conference) road trips."
