Illini gaining back fans

Illinois played in front of its first sellout Saturday during the 76-45 victory over Indiana. That was a big deal for a team that had to win back fans lost during last season's meltdown and school record for losses in a season. The team's 60-game streak of sellouts ended with the season opener.

While the Illini worked to repair their image after attitude and off-the-court issues over the last two seasons, winning is the main formula for winning back fans, Weber acknowledged.

"People like our team,'' Weber said. "I'm not sure people liked our team last year. We have good kids. They share the ball. When you win, it makes it easier. You have good personalities. You don't really have a star.''

About 1,500 tickets remain available for the Michigan game and the other weeknight games (Ohio State, Penn State, Minnesota). Only scattered single tickets are available for the weekend dates (Wisconsin, Iowa, Purdue, Michigan State).
