Illini bounce back strong vs. Purdue

What Illinois needed Sunday at the Assembly Hall was the equivalent of two cases of Red Bull, some good karma with the rims and an infusion of Chuck Norris toughness that ought to be easier to find at home than it has been on the road.

What Illinois delivered Sunday at the Assembly Hall was all of that and more. A 66-48 victory over Purdue included one of Illinois' best sustained defensive efforts of the year, a sensational game by Mike Davis and a willingness to finish strong against a team that does not quit.
