Mike Davis

He is 6-9 but only roughly 200 pounds. He's weak from tonsillitis, as well as lack of muscle. He can't feel the left side of his face because he has come down with Bells Palsy. And apparently, out of the blue, some psychiatrist watching him play called his coach to talk about his mopey body language.

Mike Davis is Illinois basketball's inside presence. He doesn't like to bang into people. And one more thing:

It just might work.

''Coach [Bruce Weber] told me I should get 13 rebounds a game,'' Davis said. ''I'm capable of it. I've got to play hard all the time."
