McCamey getting it right

By the most basic measure -- shooting -- it might have looked like a subpar game for a gifted scorer.
Demetri McCamey was 3-for-11 from the field against Purdue and missed all four of his 3-point efforts. But the 6-3 sophomore went 7-for-7 from the free-throw line, finishing with 13 points as the Illini won 66-48 Sunday.
''I was happy to see him going to the basket more, instead of standing around shooting threes,'' said St. Joseph legend Gene Pingatore, McCamey's high school coach. ''When he does that, he's tough to beat.''
